Simple Films Casting Call, River John, Nova Scotia

Simple Films Ltd is a company based in River John, Nova Scotia and they have been contacted by a company from the United States who are making a film about John Newton, the former slave who found faith and later went on to write “Amazing Grace”.

The film company is looking for 8-10 Black males and 2 Black females as slave-ship extras. Pay will be $50 per day, meals included. 

The producer of the United States film company, John Jackman, has produced a number of religious historical dramas and this project is sponsored by the Christian History Institute.

The filming will take place aboard The Ship Hector from May 21 to May 24 at Pictou Harbour.
